meet Our Leadership Team

Welcome to LIFT Cycle. This passion project has been years in the making and is now a reality. Spin has been apart of our lives for many years. Several years ago, Maureen attended a spin studio in San Diego that changed the way they looked at indoor cycling and group fitness. After that, she caught the bug and began visiting spin studios in any town she traveled to. The dream began to bring that experience and level of excellence to Santa Maria. During this time, Candace became a certified spin instructor and was looking for teaching positions, when she realized the options in town didn’t align with her level of expectations. Together, they decided to create something new that catered to the full person; mind, body, and spirit. The Lift Cycle philosophy is based off of the letters of the word LIFT: L-Love, I-Inspire, F-Forgive, T-Trust. This means that everything we do is to help each other be better versions of ourselves by loving, inspiring, forgiving, and trusting the process. We believe success in life is progress, not perfection, and we strive to be better every day. We hope to impact every person who comes in physically, mentally, and emotionally. We want to become a place where people get strength to take into their lives outside of the gym. Join us!

Welcome to Lift Cycle Studio. This place was once a dream that has now become a reality and I am so excited to share it with you. Like many people, my weight has fluctuated most of my life. At my heaviest weight I became a faithful gym member but the treadmill, elliptical and weight machines left me bored and uninspired. Then I found indoor cycling aka “spin” class and my life and health was forever changed. It was during those classes that I got to jam to my favorite songs and get to know others and enjoy the encouragement and feeling of community. At 52 years young cycling is still my passion and it’s literally the best workout around. Sing, shout and work it all out on your bike. I look forward to riding with you!

Owner, Instructor and General Manager

I found my love for indoor cycling in college. When I started classes at Cal Poly, I felt like I wasn't smart enough or capable, and that I didn't belong. While trying to find something to help calm all of my anxious energy, I landed in a spin class. I was able to find my peace at the gym, and specifically in group fitness. The energy and the community was contagious. There was nowhere else I'd rather be in my free time. Whether I was happy, sad, confused, or unmotivated, the bike was there for me and the class provided the support and time for me to take an hour to take care of myself. We train hard so that we are better prepared for difficult times in life and we are able to show up for ourselves and others.

My hope is that you, too, can find a safe place at the studio. It can be a place for you to recenter, to grow, to find community, and to be the best version of yourself.
